Hornets To Hire Spurs' Assistant As Next Head Coach

The Charlotte Hornets are closing in on a deal to make San Antonio Spurs assistant James Borrego their next head coach.  ESPN reports the Hornets chose Borrego after he made a strong impression in his interview with new president and general manager Mitch Kupchak.  Borrego will replace Steve Clifford, who was let go after five seasons in Charlotte.

The Hornets have missed the playoffs each of the last two seasons after posting consecutive 36-and-46 records.
