Miami Marlins Trade Realmuto to Phillies

The Miami Marlins have lost their All-Star catcher.

The team has traded J.T. Realmuto to the Philadelphia Phillies for catcher Jorge Alfaro, pitching prospects Sixto Sanchez and Will Stewart, and and international bonus slot.

For the 2018 season Alfaro, 25, had a .262 batting average, with 16 doubles, two triples, 10 homers, and 37 RBI in 108 games.

Sánchez, 20, was the consensus No. 1 prospect in the Phillies’ Minor League system by Baseball America , MLB Pipeline, and FanGraphs . He was a Florida State League All-Star last season for Single-A Clearwater, posting a 4-3 record and 2.51 ERA. He is also ranked 27 in MLB Pipeline's Top 100.

Stewart has gone 15-6 with a 3.20 ERA in 56 career games (40 starts), with 203 strikeouts in 239.0 innings and a .232 average against.

Spring training starts next week.
