South Florida Preps For Hurricane

A storm that is now a hurricane is heading our way.

Preparations are being made to protect residents ahead of Hurricane Isaias.

Miami-Dade County has 20 shelters on stand-by, and Mayor Carlos Gimenez says he'll open them based on the storm's strength and direction.

Last night, he ordered COVID-19 test sites, beaches, parks, golf courses, marinas, and other county rec facilities to close.

No evacuations have been ordered in Monroe County, but officials continue to monitor the storm.

The National Hurricane Center upgraded Tropical Storm Isaias last night to a Category One hurricane.

It's expected to approach South Florida sometime tomorrow.
