Governor DeSantis Suing Federal Government To Reopen Florida Ports

Governor Ron DeSantis is trying to kick-start the cruise industry in South Florida and throughout the state.

With PortMiami as his backdrop, he announced Florida is suing the federal government and the Centers for Disease Control demanding the No Sail Order be lifted and cruise ships be allowed to begin operating again.

DeSantis says he's doing it on behalf of the tens-of-thousand of Floridians whose livelihoods depend on the open cruise industry.

He is confident people are ready to return to the high seas, and if it's not available in the U.S., they'll go to the Bahamas or someplace else to do it.

PortMiami, which is known as the cruise capital of the world, is responsible for more than 200,000 jobs and billions of dollars in economic impact.
