The Eight Best Quarterback & Head Coach Duos in the NFL

The 8 Best Quarterback-Head Coach Combinations in the NFL according to Colin Cowherd (in no particular order)

Jimmy Garoppolo and Kyle Shanahan: “They’re 10-2 together and Monday Night Football was a clinic. They’re number one in the NFL in red zone offense, and they run the ball because Mike Shanahan had that zone blocking scheme and his son Kyle runs the same scheme with all sorts of modern-day advantages.”

Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid: “They’re 17-5 together and that has generally been without a great defense. Last Sunday was the first time they had ever been held under 26 points together. That’s an incredible combination.”

Jared Goff and Sean McVay: “It’s interesting the criticism they get, when they’ve won 75% of their games together and have already been to a Super Bowl. The Rams have led the NFL in points per game since McVay took over.”

Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll: “Eight seasons together and have had a winning record every year. This division has often been as good as any division in football and they’ve only missed the playoffs once in 2017; and they were still 9-7. This will go down as one of the 10 best combinations ever.”

Carson Wentz and Doug Pederson: “Right now Wentz is rated as the number two quarterback according to Pro Football Focus. For all the injuries, they’re 21-10 together, and I think they’re great situationally. They’re number 1 in the NFL in third down offense. That’s play-calling and a simpatico relationship.”

Drew Brees and Sean Payton: “These are two first-ballot Hall of Famers who have been together for 13 years. Drew will be right up there with Brady holding all the passing records.”

Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur: “They have scored more points every week and are 4-1 together. This is very early here, but there’s no doubt that Rodgers and LeFluear have the potential. It appears they actually have open lines of communication on the sidelines.”

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick: “This is going to go down as the greatest combination of all time. Nineteen years together, never had a losing season, and have won Six Super Bowls.”
