Colin Cowherd: Why the Seahawks Lost the Jamal Adams Trade With the Jets

Colin Cowherd: “Usually if a really good team gets a great player we celebrate it… I’m from the Pacific Northwest but I felt it was kind of desperate. It felt like Seattle said ‘we’ve done such a poor job of building our offensive and defensive lines, and whiffed on so many first round picks that let’s just get a big headline and a big star that can cover are arse… He’s great but I wouldn’t give up two first rounders, a third, and a starter for a safety… Seattle is going to be very good this year, I’m not disputing that, but Seattle only won ONE game last year by more than one score. They outscored their opponents by only 7 points last year. Folks, they've got holes on this roster, namely their offensive and defensive lines. This is a big swing for Jamal Adams, and a big salary cap-eating swing. I feel like Seattle is trying to make up ground for a lot of bad picks in the first round, and allowing their offensive and defensive lines to erode… I just don’t see the vision with Seattle… I like Pete Carroll, but right now I think he has too much power in the organization, and I think he’s the one who makes these moves. This is a LOT of money, they don’t have a vision, and they’ve got bigger issues -- safety isn’t one of them. It’s a big swing and it feels like it’s trying to cover up other issues in the organization.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he think the Seattle Seahawks made a peculiar move in trading for Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams from the New York Jets over the weekend, saying that it was a ‘desperate’ attempt at grabbing headlines and a diversion towards masking glaring weaknesses on the offensive and defensive lines.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he thinks Pete Carroll was the mastermind of this blockbuster deal, and why Carroll now has too much power in the organization.
