Jeff Goodman Says Kyrie Irving Didn't Respect Anyone in Boston

Jeff Goodman: “We thought Kyrie would change here in Boston from that moody and immature kid in Cleveland. It was HIS team and the perfect situation for him to play for a coach in Brad Stevens who ‘lets you play’, gives you the ultimate green light, and even let Marcus Smart jack up 3’s… Ultimately, he didn’t grow up and became unlikeable. Kyrie doesn’t respect anybody and think he’s smarter than everybody else.”

Listen to basketball analyst for ‘Stadium’ Jeff Goodman join The Odd Couple to talk about the infamously epic fall from grace of Kyrie Irving on the Boston Celtics.

When Irving was first brought to Boston in the trade that sent Celtics star-at-the-time Isaiah Thomas and a future first round pick that later become Collin Sexton to Cleveland, many people believed the Celtics were a heavy title contender and that Kyrie could lead a team to a championship as its no. 1 player just months after his Game 7 heroics vs. the Warriors.

Check out the audio above as Goodman explains to Rob Parker and Chris Broussard why all the good feelings slowly deteriorated into one of the biggest catastrophes in the history of the Boston Celtics franchise.
